‍Project Profile:

‍What is the problem or opportunity you are addressing in this project?

Essential Energy is putting together a National Unit of Competence for the Environmental Units which runs through all training packages from Certificate IV to Advanced Diploma. It is envisaged that in time this Unit of Competence will also be delivered to Apprentices.

‍Who are the learners and how will they benefit from this project?

The Learners in this situation are any technical field workers undertaking a paraprofessional qualification in the Electrical Supply Industry. The benefits will be a distance based learning module which can still be interactive, informative and engageing.


‍How are you currently delivering this training? (ie prior to the project)

The current program is run through an external RTO and is a text book on line, answer questions and write an assignment. All not interactive and not engaging

How will your project demonstrate the power of broadband to enhance outcomes for learners?

With the used of High Definition Video and streaming in multiple locations, students will be able to view this material without the normal interruptions

Initial teleconference held to arrange the details to meet the first deadline. Milestone document completed and reviewed by both parties

Meetings with field based personnal as to content of course.
Meetings with GVM and EE as to format the course will take.
Content already developed however it does require updating, improving delivery methods and expanding delivery content.

- All software loaded on computers in Armidale Dugital Hub located at Armidale Council site
- Speed test carried out as NBN not installed as planned as yet so only on ADSL2+
- Download speed 30.14Mbps, Upload speed 16.55Mbps, ping 46ms at 1:40pm on 23/4/2012
